Plantar fasciitis

Our podiatrist is a specialist at resolving Planter fasciitis and will get rid of that dreaded first step in the morning.

Unlike what it says on most search engines planter fasciitis is not an inflammation condition. It is in fact mostly due to micro tears and strain due to overloading the tissue.

It is the most common type of heel pain we see in clinic and also often miss diagnosed condition.

It’s commonly seen in 35+ age group who are active or their feet for a long period of time.

Planter Fasciitis can come in one if two forms

  • Insertional plantar fasciitis - where the tissues attaches into the heel bone
  • Non-insertional plantar fasciitis - where the pain is in the arch

Both can occur due to weight, biomechanics, changes in environment, activity and footwear. Treatments can vary depending on the diagnosis and underlying problem.

For a correct diagnosis, Y Pod highly recommends a biomechanical gait analysis to assess the way you walk/ run for this type of condition.
